Fresh from a successful legislative campaign in 2005, NTRC has redoubled its efforts to isolate and secure nuclear, biological and chemical weapons and materials around the globe to ensure that they do not fall into the hands of terrorists.
The Campaign has recently relaunched its web presense. Boasting more than 40,000 individual subscribers, NTRC again provides one-stop-shopping to individuals concerned with the threats arising from weapons of mass destruction. With nuclear tensions rising with Iran, North Korea, and India, and new intelligence reports of loose materials proliferating from the states of the former Soviet Union, the work of the Campaign is more timely today than perhaps at any time in history.
To that end, NTRC is working closely with Members of Congress on a new roadmap for US national security. The plan includes among other things, new attempts to fully implement the conclusions of the 9/11 Commission, enhance border security, and redirect former biological weapons experts in Russia by collaborating on the development of countermeasures for biological weapons like anthrax, smallpox and plague.
