Khloth Sareth

Khloth Sareth is the HR and Admin Manager for Veterans International/Cambodia. Prior to assuming his present position, Sareth was the Site Manager of the Prey Veng Regional Rehabilitation Center and was responsible for the general administration and supervision of the center.

Before joining VFA in 1995 as the Assistant to the Site Manager for the Prey Veng Rehabilitation Center, Sareth worked as an interpreter. In 1994 he was the Interpreter for the CIET Consultant to VFA. From 1992 to 1993, he worked as an interpreter/translator for the United Nations Advance Mission In Cambodia (UNAMIC) at the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC). Sareth was one of the surviving hostages among 13 UNTAC personnel who were captured by the Khmer Rouge in Kratie province during the electoral 1993 registration period.

Sareth, a Cambodian national, fled the country for the Cambodian Thai border in 1978 and joined KPNLF, the Khmer National Liberation Front, when it was formed in 1979. He returned to Cambodia in 1992 to work with UNAMIC.

Sareth completed his secondary education (Baccalaureate II) at Site Two Camp, one of the Cambodian Refugee Camps along the Cambodian-Thai border, in 1991.
