Program Manager, Rehabilitation and Rights for People with Disabilities, Vietnam
Kerry’s role at VFA is to work with the members of the rehabilitation and rights team to implement the four main strategies of the VFA program in Hanoi until March 2005. These four goals are:
Kerry started with VFA in September 2000 as a Clinical Mentor in Bach Mai hospital and changed to a managerial position in May 2002. Prior to her arrival in Vietnam, Kerry lectured on Orthotics and Prosthetics at La Trobe University in Australia. She’s worked in O&P at various places since graduating in 1988, including clinical work in the Royal Adelaide Hospital, teaching in Cambodia, teaching in Australia, and now clinical/management in Vietnam. Kerry has never specialized in any aspect of O&P — instead, she has always sought out broad experiences and various responsibilities within the field.
Kerry is a graduate of La Trobe University, holding a Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics (with Honours) for a thesis presented in 1999 ‘Prosthetic and Orthotic Services for Indigenous Persons in Rural Australia’. This research included a needs analysis of the indigenous community in the Torres Strait region in Far North Queensland, Australia.
