“A lot of people think if you get help for PTSD or any psychological issue, they think it is almost a weakness.” In truth, Real Warriors get the treatment they need to be whole again. Combat stress is a major, front-line concern of the military as it should be for every American. We shouldn’t have to depend on the kindness of private citizens to get the funds needed for treatment - it should be a national priority. PTSD can take months to develop, striking even after our troops return home. Suicidal thoughts can plague our returning combat veterans — and they mustn’t be allowed to suffer alone, untreated. Military suicides impact us all.

Just because Memorial Day is behind us doesn’t mean our duties to our troops cease

After the war budgeting, something was forgotten: some $1.5 billion to cover benefits increases and the costs of having more military personnel on active duty.  Most of the unanticipated troops on active duty are drawn from the Guard and Reserves, who are fighting and getting injured at a grim rate.

A mistake prevented 39,000 disabled military vets from receiving VA Retro Pay.  

President Obama is to visit the troops at Ramstein and Landstuhl next week…

Tough economic times hit the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia, which may have to close its doors soon…It’s not the only casualty of the hard times.
